Ultimate Frisbee: Interest meeting

Middle School and High School Ultimate Frisbee will have an interest meeting after school on 9/11 in Mr. Bryan’s room T102.  If you can not attend but are interested in ultimate frisbee then please contact Mr. Bryan.

MS Boys Soccer Tryouts

Middle school boys soccer tryouts will be held starting Wed August 29 immediately after school.  Meet in the main gym.  Please have your ride here at 6 p.m.  A current physical must be on file or in hand to try out.

Women’s Tennis beats Raleigh Charter

You just got served!  DSA women’s tennis beat Raleigh charter school 7-2 in a long away match.  Shoutouts to the whole team for fighting for the win and rooting on their players.  Come watch their home match Wednesday after school!

Here is a list with descriptions of specific tasks for you to think about.  If you are unable to attend but have an interest in being involved in one of these tasks please email contactus@dsaboosterclub.org
 

Membership

Accept and process membership applications and record new member information in a spreadsheet.  Route checks/cash to Treasurer for deposit. Solicit for members by making the form available to the coaches to distribute to their team members. 

 

Communications Liaison

Disseminate Booster information via communications with Mr. Hawks for phone calls, website updates, and emails to Booster members.

 

Concession buyer

Take periodic inventory of the concession stand and purchase items to restock.  Should have a Sams or Costco membership.  Communicate with Pepsi regarding drink orders.

 

Gala Committee

The Gala is a fund raiser conducted with the Jazz Department.  Work with a team on all aspects of the Gala planning including date and location selection, schedule, program, silent auction, refreshments. 

 

Support Our Schools (SOS)

SOS is a program where we staff concession stands at Duke football and basketball and Durham Bulls games.  Volunteers must be willing to work games as needed/available and be trained to captain.  Coordinate team schedule with DSA Athletic Director to be sure all games are properly staffed.

 

Middle school dances

Identify volunteers for the 4 middle school dances for the year.  Secure a DJ and coordinate with Treasurer to have DJ paid.  Work with Athletic Director to be sure main gym is set-up for each event.  Volunteers are need for the concession stand and door.  Advertise each dance in the Carr Building the week of each dance.

 

Great Human Race

Get DSA registered and advertise for donations and runners/walkers.  Set up webpage on GHR website (they provide instruction). 

 

Sports Banquet – Middle School

Select date, secure space, plan, secure rentals, and catering.

 

Sports Banquet – High School

Select date, secure space, plan, secure rentals, and catering.
