DSA Swim Team Defeats Riverside

DSA Swimming held their first competition against Riverside Monday evening.  The Men’s team defeated Riverside 146-122 with dual first places taken by Michael Thomson in the 100 Fly and 100 backstroke.  Additional first place winners were Matt Jacobs in the 200 freestyle, Nick Sherron in the 50 freestyle, Zach Bomstein in the 500 freestyle, as well as the 400 freestyle relay made up of Chris Holloway, Camil Craciunescu, Alex Strader, and Chris Diaz.

The Women’s team defeated Riverside 152-109 with dual first places taken by Reagan Padgett in the 100 Fly and the 100 backstroke and by Marie Boudreau in the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle.  Additional first place winners were Hollin Boy in the 100 freestyle, as well as the 400 freestyle relay made up of Courtney Jacobs, Ana Carrell, Rachel Furiness, and Alison Andrews.

Numerous regional cuts and consideration times were reached by both teams. Congratulations on a job well done!

Congratulations to Varsity Wrestling

Varsity Wrestling won the Graham Dual Tournament for the 3rd straight year this past Wednesday. Drake Swigart, Isaac Little, Darien Garrett-Johnson, Walter Jenkins, Joshua Sawyer, and Michael Eubanks were the champions of their weight class. Be sure to come see them wrestle Granville Central at home this Wednesday at 7:30!

Varsity Women’s Soccer Tournament

The Varsity Women’s Soccer team is hosting its annual 4v4 double elimination soccer tournament on Tuesday, Nov 29 starting @ 4pm. Cost is $5 per player thru Nov 22 and then $8 per player for late registration after Nov 22. Please sign up at lunch!

DSA Varsity Soccer Advances to the 4th Round of State Playoffs

Varsity soccer defeated Bunn HS last night in dramatic fashion, winning the game in the 2nd sudden death period. The team fought well as Lucas Villanueva, Steven Disla, and Keenan Conder scored and Steven Disla and Diego Cruz each had assists.

DSA advances to the 4th round of state playoffs to play @ Carrboro Saturday night @ 6pm.

Ultimate Frisbee Tournment

Congratulations to the DSA/Hillside New Tech Ultimate Frisbee team.  They won all 6 games in the Fall Brawl tournament this weekend.  Team members from DSA included Eli Miller, Calahan Riley, Alex Moen, Abbi Derbyshire, Jeremy Sheahan and Michael Collins.

Varsity Soccer Win 1st Round State Playoffs!

Varsity Soccer defeated Roanoke Rapids in the 1st round of state playoffs last night. Steven Disla had a hat trick, while Nelson Disla, and Lucas Villanueva had one goal each. Assists were added by Steven Disla, Owen Ryan, and Keenan Conder. Stephen Alen recorded a clean sheet in the goal.
